Moses Baskets

A moses basket is a small, light and sturdy variation of a bassinet, allowing for easy portability and maximum comfort for your child.
Many parents find that moses baskets help to make their baby feel more calm and comfortable, potentially because of the small and confined environment which replicates the mothers womb.
You should make sure to transition your child into a cot when they are able to roll themselves over around the age of four months, as they could potentially tip a moses basket over.

Kiddisave have a range of moses baskets available here from all of the top brands such as Lollipop Lane, Kids Line, Obaby, Kiddicuddle and more.

From Milk to Solids

Making the transition from breast milk to solid foods is an important step forward in your childs life. The World Health Organisation recommends introducing other food (in addition to the regular breast milk feeding) after your child is about six months old.
Between the ages of 6 and 8 months you should introduce at least two daily feedings of solid foods which are of the right texture and consistency for your child to consume.
This amount should be increased to three or four feedings daily after age 8 months and from one year, you should also offer your child two nutritious snacks throughout the day in addition to the regular food.

There is a whole range of foods which you can use to start your baby on - popular first foods include brown rice cereal (powdered and cooked), pureed bananas, pureed sweet potato and pureed avocado or applesauce, though there is quite a variety of puree's to choose from.
Once your child has gotten used to very runny puree, you can start to slowly thicken the food over time.

Smiles all around

Making your little one smile is just about the most enjoyable thing you can do when you have a child. Making them smile, laugh and giggle can brighten your day as well as hers (or his).
Here are a few things you can do to really get your child giggling;
  1. Blow some bubbles! Babies love bubbles, so grab a bottle of bubble soap and blow a few around your child and watch as they laugh and try to catch the bubbles!
  2. Do some painting! A great way to do some finger painting that wont be bad if your child puts their hand in their mouth, is if you mix some food colouring with yoghurt or cream - all the fun and mess of finger paint with a great taste too!
  3. Put on a puppet show! Every parent should be able to put on a few hand puppets or socks and make some funny voices, try doing this with bright and colourful characters.
  4. Go down to your local park. Babies love swings and see-saws, or anything that lets a little wind through their hair. Make sure your baby always knows you're their by smiling and laughing with them so they feel safe and secure, and don't forget to have fun yourself!

Kids Garden Party Ideas

Keep them entertained in the sun with our fab garden party ideas!

Tennis and outdoor sport.
For the youngest of your family, try a foam ball and a childrens racket to build co ordination.  Trikes are great for outdoor fun in the sun. Trampolines are guaranteed smiles all round for kids and grown ups alike! Make sure to get safety guards for the outside of the trampoline to prevent bouncing off the edge.

Picnic in the Garden!
Do they love to help out in the kitchen? Let the kids have fun making finger food for outside – sandwiches, crisps, pineapple sticks, sausage rolls, fruit slices, chocolate buttons and more. Lemonade and fruit juice with ice are great thirst quenchers. Put them in the fridge to keep cool until they’re needed!

Paddling pools
For a real scorcher, get the paddling pool out and let your babies float around with plenty of toys, boats and bath ducks. Great way to enjoy the sun and stay cool. Kiddisave have some great bath toys also suitable for paddling pools in our toys section of the web store.

Hippychick Waterproofs
If it starts raining, as it inevitably does in Britain, try the Hippychick all in one suits for your toddlers to enjoy the garden whatever the weather. Cute, reasonably priced and totally waterproof to keep them warm and dry.

Wash it all down with Jelly & Ice Cream!
